Top 10 Things to Consider when Choosing an Awning Company:

Posted by Natalie Carlin on October 21, 2015 at 10:30am

How do you know which company is right for you and your home or business? Here we provide the top ten things to consider when choosing the perfect awning company for you and your dream project.

1.   Do they encourage you to visit their facility?  Seeing the facility and manufacturing team in action should help you feel more comfortable with your final decision.

2.   How reliable is your salesperson?  Your salesperson should be timely with appointments and thorough when answering your questions.  They should listen to what you want and discuss the feasible options to accomplish your goals.

3.    Will they provide references?  An established company will promptly provide references for you to check by visiting the completed projects and speaking with the owners/managers.  You should be able to see the quality of appearance and ease of use.

4.    Are they a full service design-build company?  They should be able to design, engineer, permit, manufacture and install your project and be amenable to working with your contractor, designer and/or architect.

5.    Do they have proper insurance coverage? Ask for proof of general and auto liability as well as workman’s compensation coverages.  If major equipment will be rented, the company should have rental coverage as well.

6.    Are they willing to work within your schedule? There are various reasons why a project may not just be “9-5”.  Establish availability.

7.     How long has the company been in business? You want the company to be able to honor warranties and address service concerns on their products and workmanship. You do not want a disappearing act after you have paid a deposit or in the middle of completion.

8.     Where do they provide product and service?  Understand the geographic regions they have or are able to provide product and service.  Is it regional? Nationwide? The Caribbean?

9.    What are the reviews on the company?  Reviews on the company can provide additional   information to help you make your decision.

10.   Are you comfortable with your choice?  In the end, the ultimate decision is yours.  You know what you want and at this point should have all the information to make a decision.  You should have confidence in your salesperson and the company.  As a customer, your satisfaction is paramount.
